Frequently Asked Questions

Is there private parking available for Casa Bernardini?

Private garages are very rare in such a prime location as the one of our Casa. There are few small areas where parking is free in Viareggio (one is not far from our Casa, but it's hard to take advantage of it in high season).  A parking permit can be obtained to park in our area. Its cost is: 3€/day (1-7 days), 2€/day (8-14 days), 1€/day (15-30 days). The city has created a few free-parking areas in or around the city that are served by buses. A summary of the information (as of July 2013) can be found at this link (we don't take responsibility for the accuracy of the information).

Is there air conditioning in the Levante or the Ponente?

Starting in April 2013 Casa Bernardini will be equipped with air conditioning in each bedroom. The use of air conditioning might require a small additional fee.  We kindly ask you to check on this point with  your contact at the time of signing the contract.

Is the garden shared between the Levante and the Ponente?

The garden is not shared. The entrance to the levante opens on the garden and for this reason the garden was assigned to the levante, while the Ponente has the 1st floor terrace as outside seating area. In case of lack of occupants of the Levante at a given week, the occupants of the Ponente will be able to access the garden, but we cannot give any guarantee of this at the time of booking.

Is the entrance shared between the Ponente and the Levante?

No, each apartment has its own separate entrance.

Do you have baby accessories?

Yes. Upon request (at booking time), we may be able to provide a baby bed, a baby bath tub, and a baby chair.

Do I need to have a car to enjoy my stay at Casa Bernardini?

By all means no. It's very easy and inexpensive to come and go to Pisa airport  by bus (3€ each way, 1hr drive, stop 150m from the house). Once you're here you may reach all the most famous locations (Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Cinque terre and more) via train or bus, very easily.

Shall I be required to clean the house at the end of our stay?

No, the final cleaning is included in the price. We just ask you to take all your things  out of the fridge and collect any garbage you may still have. You are also kindly asked to place any piece of furniture you may have moved back to its original position.

May I take my pet with me?

This needs to to be discussed at the time of the booking, but in general we are much open towards pets.

Is a refundable deposit required?

Of course it is. We are sure that you too would ask one if you were to open your own house to strangers :-)

How do I reach Casa Bernardini?

You may go to our transportation page and click on the pdf  that you will find under the photos. The document contains detailed explanations on how to reach Casa Bernardini by car, bus or train.

Is there a policy regarding the age of the renters?

Yes, our policy is that all members of the party must  be 25 or older except in the case of minors accompanied by their parents.

Is there a public beach in Viareggio?

Yes, there are two public beaches. One is located near the port and it's extremely small and the other, very large one, is located at the south end of town. One can cycle to the free beach in about 20-25 minutes or be there in 10 minutes by car. Be aware that the public beach is not always taken care of by the city as it should be.
All the rest  of the beach is occupied by resorts that ask about 12-15 euros per day for a group of 4-5 people. For that amount you're provided with a place to change and shower, a beach umbrella, a sunbathing bed and a couple of chairs. Small boats can also be rented in such establishements. Click here for their locations.

Can you give me an idea of how centrally and conveniently located Casa Bernardini is?

As you will see with your eyes once you will have walked around Viareggio, it doesn't get any better than our location. We are in the heart of the old center in abroad, bright street and we are close to all the best attractions while being in a quiet spot. Clicking here you may see a small map with highlights on market, supermarket, park, beach, train station, bakery etc.
